Corner Store to Film Studio

Portland, Oregon

A former corner market storefront in Northeast Portland was adapted and reused to house a new residence and film studio.

The renovation work included polishing and resealing the existing concrete floors, walnut-shell blasting the exposed ceiling structure to bring out the warm wood tones and opening up the East façade to allow daylight to fill the interiors.

The decision for sober detailing of structural connections, window frames, and interior finishes was to provide a calming backdrop for the creative live-work space.
